I am a hopelessly positive person. So when I moved to the US of A, I dreamt of succesfully replanting my old life into a new soil, metaphorically, of course. It wasn't long before I woke up and smelt the coffee... Noone wanted to hire an unknown Indian journalist, who didn't even go to J-school, had been a generalist all her career and was also not so clear about what her strengths were. My visa transfer was another story altogether.
